Description The paper is theoretically concerned with the concept of the educational competences of the teaching librarian both in the context of the Czech Library Development Concept for the years 2017-2020 and in connection with the valid ALA document in the section ACRL Roles and Strengths of Teaching Librarians from 2016. The main content of the paper is a treatise self-reflection as one of the pillars of success of the work of the teaching librarian. The aim of the paper is to theoretically capture the phenomenon of pedagogical reflection in the field of discourse and at the same time to open a possible transdisciplinary research field, which goes from the field of librarianship and information science to pedagogy and psychology.
