Description Our poster will introduce the project „Pre-literacy support in preschool education“, in which teachers and academics cooperate to design activities to be used in school practice. In the first phase of the project, materials and guidelines for teachers have been prepared and teachers pilot them in their classrooms. One of the key topics – ways of motivating children to engage in literacy activities – will be presented. Effective ways of working with children books and using reading blocks will be discussed with particular attention to reading corners and their potential to lead children to reading and working with books. These topics will be illustrated with photos from classrooms where cooperating teachers worked with prepared materials. Also, teacher feedback on the activities will be included.
