Description | The aim of the present contribution is to summarize described forms of the numerals ‘one to ten’ in the West Chadic languages and to analyze their structure and mutual relations from the point of view of internal etymology and mutual parallels in both genetic and areal perspectives. The areal parallels are chosen from more or less neighbouring language groups, especially Plateau and Jarawan Bantu. The data are concentrated into tables reflecting the genetic classification. |
