Description The essay analyse the work of Czech historian Josef Válka (1929-2017) as a historian of Early Modern Age. Josef Válka was one of the most important Czech historians, he studied the Central Europian History of the Age between 15th and 17th century. His topics were history of Hussite Revolution, history of moravian Estates in the era before the Battle at White Mountain, history of economical systém at the aristocratical domains, history of culture of manierism and baroque in Central Europe, He used preferentially the terminology of french historical school of „nouvelle histoire“, but the term „Early Modern Time (in Czech „raný novověk“), frequented by the chzech and german hitorography for last three decades, wasn’t for him typical.
