Description The objective of this article is to outline the liberation of the former Austerlitz battlefield (named so after the Battle of Austerlitz of 1805) at the end of Second World War. The main focus is on the central part of the battlefield. The troops of Nazi Germany defended this area, as the Red Army approached it – this clash is hyperbolically called the „Second Battle of Austerlitz.“ This article describes the liberation of the villages on the Austerlitz battlefield, the number of victims of this conflict in the area, and the situation after the war.
