Description Liessmann has become a Central European celebrity of pedagogical philosophy. His conservative approach to the problems of education carries a specific aesthetic dimension that is intrinsically linked to Eurocentrism, Neohellenism and elitism. The analysis of the aesthetic forms of some of his texts and the comparison of his approach to cognition, education and aesthetics with a pragmatic-socratic approach (Dewey, Shusterman, Nussbaum) allows us to show the weaknesses of both, the conservative approach to education and Liessmann's elitist attitude.
