Description I. k. civil guard in Šlapanice was established in the last third of the 19th century, originally as a branch station of Líšeň and later became independent. Commander Alois Ježek commanded the station at the time of the establishment of Czechoslovakia and left in 1935. The civil guard maintained order in the area by regular patrols, guardians of public order dealt with offenses and crimes and in Šlapanice also a robbery murder. Thanks to private sources it was possible to look into the agenda of the civil guard. The wave of criminal complaints reveals one dismal chapter in the period of the establishment of Czechoslovakia.
