Description | Chrysosplenium oppositifolium is a subatlantic species of forest springs. Its distribution center is situated in Western Europe and the species is declining towards Central Europe. In the Czech Republic, it is common in mountains and in some sandstone areas within the western half of the country. Besides this distribution range, it has the isolated area of occurrence in the northern part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands and adjacent regions. The paper summarizes occurrence of Chrysosplenium oppositifolium in NE edge of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, in the Litomyšl and Polička regions. During the last ten years, the species was discovered or confirmed in ten sites, at the altitude of 460–650 m. It often forms dense stands in the wettest parts of forest springs. This vegetation was documented by seven phytosociological relevés. From the syntaxonomical point of view, they can be predominantly classified to the association Pellio epiphyllae-Chrysosplenietum oppositifolii (alliance Caricion remotae, class Montio-Cardaminetea). |
