Description | The phenomenon of internationalization is almost inseparably connected with the existence of universities. But this connection is still complicated. These were universities that had counted on mobility and firm internationalization since the Middle Ages, and which strongly supported male religious orders (especially Franciscans, Dominicans and, in the modern period, Jesuits). The quality of education was directly related to the ability of the university to function in a more cultural environment of intense exchange. It was the universities that built the phenomenon of humanism in the modern sense. |
