Description Land reforms in the period of industrial society (from the 19th century) led to significant changes in the rural landscape. Deep changes occurred in the 20th century (the period of real socialism) - merging land into large areas, overlapping the original mosaic of fields, meadows and forests. Number of relatively small areas with such land distribution have been preserved to this day. Large areas of ancient lands are rare in the current landscape. Parts of the territory with a preserved structure of land use (originated before the middle of the 19th century before the main wave of the industrialization) can be described as segments of the pre-industrial landscape. An inventory was carried out in the historical territory of Moravia according to a certified methodology. Each segment (approx. 1,400 in 3000 cad. territories) was entered into the GIS geodatabase. The publication offers an overview of 150 selected segments of the pre-industrial landscape, which are classified according their preservation.
