Description In Brno and its surroundings, scientists have identified six different pathogens in ticks. Ticks were most positive for Borrelia (Borrelia burgdorferi s.l., less for Anaplasma phagocytophyllum, Babesia spp., Coxiella burnetii, Rickettsi spp. Surprisingly, the presence of DNA and Toxoplasma gondii). The positivity can vary during the year, so ticks are collected continuously throughout the year. The worsened epidemiological situation in this area is reflected in a twofold increase in patients with borreliosis. This corresponds to the high positivity of ticks.
