Description Protecting people in emergencies and crisis situations is currently a very current and frequent topic. Not only the current epidemiological situation and the COVID-19 pandemic, the related re-declaration of a state of emergency, but also other events such as floods, earthquakes, terrorist attacks and other risks to human health place increased demands on the population's preparedness, education and training. areas. Education at compulsory school level, which is closely linked to teacher training, plays a key role in educating citizens. The aim of the communication is to present the concept of basic education in the field of human protection in emergencies and crisis situations in the Czech Republic and the related concept of undergraduate teacher education. The results of the analysis of the curricular document valid for basic education in the Czech Republic (14), the educational area of Man and Health - the educational field of Health Education and the results of the analysis of the textbook of health education in the field of safety topics will be presented. Furthermore, we will acquaint the reader with the analysis of study plans of selected pedagogical faculties (Brno and Olomouc) and the anchoring of security topics in these documents. The paper will also present a new methodological material, which should serve as supporting material in the teaching of this extensive and complex topic at primary (but also universities).
