Description | The level of language and speech skills can be evaluated, for example, in terms of levels of language or external/internal factors that affect a speaker. Spontaneous speech is usually used in most situations of everyday life, therefore its mastering is essential to fulfilling the communication (social) goal. For this reason, the unprepared spoken recordings of people without impaired communication skills, ie without speech therapy diagnoses, and other potential influences on language and speech were selected as the core of the research. The students of the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University were involved in data collection, they acquired recordings of their family members or acquaintances in the period from autumn 2019 to spring 2021. The obtained data include a test of lexical production, description of a picture, and spontaneous speech on a given topic. The theme was chosen so as not to provoke controversy - a description of the ideal holiday. Given the fact that the conditions for the free movement of persons were adjusted during the data collection period, due to the measures in place against the spread of coronavirus, the paper explored if the situation was reflected in speech and how. |
