| Description | The article presents the main outputs of the publication Optimism and Its Role in the Context of Health (Dosedlová, MU Brno, 2018). The central theme is shaped by the question of whether optimism in the context of health brings benefits or is associated with risks. The publication integrates eleven empirical studies, most of which were carried out during four consecutive research projects supported by the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic. In addition to the constructs of optimism / pessimism, it also examines other demographic and personality characteristics as psychological variables influencing health-related behavior, which is currently considered to be the strongest factor contributing to an individual's health. |
