Description Presented here are phytosociological relevés from two bryophyte-dominated spring communities of the Montio-Cardaminetea class in the Republic of North Macedonia. Both vegetation types had been insufficiently documented or had not even been distinguished in the region. The first alliance, Lycopodo europaei-Cratoneurion commutati, comprises vegetation of calcium-rich woodland springs with calcium carbonate precipitation. The second alliance, Cratoneurion commutati, represents high-mountain calcium-rich spring communities. According to our knowledge, neither of the alliances had previously been documented by phytosociological relevés in the country.
