Description The work tries to find out the pragmatic functions of the reducing or of the intensification of the verb form crec (que) in the parliamentary language of the actual Catalan. The subjectivising verb can involve the semantic strong or weak value which help to modalize the information. The study analyses the use of crec (que) in the Diaris de Sessions in order to see if it represents an efficacious resource for the parliamentary argumentation.
