| Description | The paper presents the position of teaching geography in the educational system of the Czech Republic. The current state is based on the outlined historical overview. The educational process at primary and secondary schools is regulated by the National Program for the Development of Education in the Czech Republic. The Czech education system is characterized by a two-stage procedure. At the state level, it is represented by the "Framework Educational Program" (FEP). It sets out the basic educational areas. Geography is included in basic education in the areas of "Man and his world", "Man and society" and "Man and nature". With regard to geography, the primary education mainly concerns the area "Humans and their world", where the teaching focuses on the topics "Place where we live" and "Diversity of the Nature ". Secondary education provides teaching of geography in the field of "Humans and their world". The subject of geography is elaborated in detail in the topics Geographical data sources, cartography and topography, Natural image of the Earth, Regions of the world, Social and economic sphere, Environment, Czech Republic and Outdoor geographical teaching, practice and applications. |
