| Description | Three new coelenterazine-powered luciferase variants were computationally designed. The corresponding genes were synthesized and recombinant proteins were expressed in Escherichia coli. The proteins were purified to high homogeneity. All newly designed proteins showed high expressibility and solubility. Luciferase activities were then determined, revealing that the new enzymes are better in catalysis and light emission than those previously published. |
