| Description | The paper deals with the Karel Čapek's student years in Brno (1905-1907) as well as with his summer stays in Bílovice nad Svitavou and contacts with Brno in the interwar period (especially visits to theatre productions and the editorial office of Lidové noviny). Čapek's first poems and articles with Brno themes, printed in the 1920s and 1930s mainly in Lidové noviny, are also analysed. Finally, the paper examines Čapek's relations with authors associated with Brno, such as S. K. Neumann, Arne Novák, Jiří Mahen, Leoš Janáček and Petr Bezruč. |
