| Description | The paper demonstrates the background effects of available natural energy sources on the development of the South Moravian landscape and society during the known history. While fossil energy sources are on the verge of depletion, new ones are being discovered. The key to the richness of the local landscape is the abundant sunlight, warm climate, fertile soils and large rivers. The abundance of geothermal energy is also promising. |
