Description The study presents a partial historic-comparativ research. Main publications, deal with didactics of literary education in the period from the sixties of 20th century to the present, are analysed to cover the approaches to the therms method and interpretation. The study search for the reasons and consequences of the instability of both terms. The chapters have chronological order, they deal with all mentioned decades. The author presents, among others, these findings: the problem of two spheres of methods in teaching literature was not solved adequately in the past, the term interpretation is both stable and wide (in its specifications), there is not clearly expressed the relation between interpretation and the methods in general. The need of terminology synthesis, complexity and comprehensibility is accented in the end of the text.
