Description | The monograph offers insight into three schools that are fulfilling the ideas of inclusive education. The management, teaching staff, pupils and most parents in these schools understand that inclusion is possible and that, if it is done well, it is not at the expense of pupils' cognitive development. Several months we collected data through observations, interviews, and document analysis to describe specific characteristics of effective approaches to inclusive education. The main finding of our research is that inclusion is not a deepening of integration. It is a concept that is based on completely different philosophical, sociological and psychological foundations. |
