Description The diploma thesis focuses on the importance and use of national geoparks in education in primary school on the example of the Vysočina Geopark. The theoretical part of this thesis is devoted to the statutory definition of national geoparks, their mission and connection to the European network of geoparks. The focus is on the current national geoparks of the Czech Republic, especially from the perspective of geology and tourism. The position of geoparks and geological expositions in relation to the formal and non-formal education. The main part of the theoretically oriented chapter is devoted to the National Geopark Vysočina. It includes an overview and characterisation of the important sites located in this area (e.g. the quarries of Řásná, Vanov, Sumrakov and Mrákotín, nature reserves and monuments - the Velký and Malý pařezitý rybník Nature Reserve, the Roštýnská Obora Nature Reserve, the Štamberk and kamenné moře Nature Reserve, the Zhejral National Nature Monument, the Míchova skála Nature Monument, museums - the Museum of Stone Masonry (Mrákotín) and the Chadimův mlýn, as well as the Roštejn Castle and the Javořice Arboretum) and the possibilities of their use in the educational process. The practical part of the diploma thesis includes the results of a questionnaire survey carried out among pedagogical staff of selected primary schools in the South Moravian Region and the Vysočina Region. On the basis of information sources and data obtained during the field reconnaissance of the territory of the Vysočina National Geopark, a set of original teaching materials was created, which were provided to the teachers of the second grade of selected primary schools in these regions. This chapter also includes an evaluation of the feedback received from the teachers interviewed.
