| Description | This paper examines the reception of the work of the philosopher and Hispanist Juan Carlos Rodríguez Gómez (1942-2016) by Professor Malcolm K. Read. The paper approaches his reading by focusing on his latest book, but making references to other earlier works. Read’s book offers a doubly vantage point of view, because of the author’s academic work between theory and literary studies and because of his situation in the Anglo-Saxon university field; therefore, it was possible to see both the potential and the obstacles of Rodríguez’s work for its reception outside Spain, but also its difficulties in its internal reception. The present article points out the insightfulness of his analyses, adding on some discussion and observations to nuance Read’s complex commentaries. |
