| Description | The paper presented the findings of a review of research study comprising 36 publications from 2010 - 2023, which aimed to determine whether and how artificial intelligence (AI) is already being used for the development of intercultural communicative competence (ICC) in the context of education, what the main pitfalls of integrating AI into the context of education relevant to foreign language teaching aimed at developing ICC are, and what potential of AI for ICC development is mentioned by the authors. Given the current state of AI technologies, their use for teaching and developing ICC in the context of foreign language education seems (except for the use of VR technologies in teaching) rather counterproductive so far. |
