Description | The presentation deals with Czech female writers and poets of children's and youth literature Daisy Mrázková and Ester Stará, winners of many literary awards. Ester Stará is a special educator, speech therapist and coordinator of inclusion at the first level of primary schools. Her children's books, fairy tales and stories for young school-age readers focus on the development of communication skills. Her texts are graphically specific, with dynamic graphics, often with comics style text bubbles, and specifically structured. The aim is to awake children's love of reading, to bring beginning readers into reading and to facilitate reading for children with special learning needs. Writer, poet and artist Daisy Mrázková was a significant creator and early pioneer of bilderbooks, and in 2005 she received a special Golden Ribbon Award for lifetime creative work in children's literature from the Czech Section of IBBY and the Children's Book Illustrators Club. The study examines from the perspective of developmental psychology the book of poems Písně mravenčí chůvy (Songs of the Ant Nanny) by Daisy Mrázková (the annual Golden Ribbon Award 2009 in the category of books for beginning readers) and the book Chrochtík a Kvikalka na cestě za blýskavým prasátek (Chrochtík and Kvikalka on the Way to the Glittering Piglet), which won the Golden Ribbon Award for both the literary and artistic parts in the category of fiction for younger readers. The paper is part of a broader doctoral research, partial results of which are being applied to teaching students of pedagogical and art-pedagogical disciplines at secondary and higher education institutions. |
