Description The current form of final assessment of primary school pupils’ learning outcomes has a long tradition that is difficult to change. This paper aims to summarise the results of three case studies of primary schools that have decided to make a change. To provide a complex picture of this change, we present the perspectives of all actors in the educational process. The results show that various contextual factors significantly influence the process of change. We found that knowledge and skills related to the implementation of this innovation, positive attitudes of teachers, and support of school leadership are essential for it to be successful. Pupils and their parents gradually learned to understand the innovative school report card’s content and meaning.
