Description The aim of the chapter is to present arguments that relate to the social problem associated with not including the position of social educator among the teaching professions in the Czech Republic. Three notes are presented in the interpretation. The first note concerns the issue of institutional limitation of the field of social education and the historical reference to selected personalities of social education. The second note is focused on the effectiveness of educational interaction in the conditions of different institutional environments. The third note concerns the interweaving of theory and practice of social education.
