Description | A research included 316 adolescents aged from 16 to19 years (132 boys, 184 girls). Adolescents reported their reactions on family problems. Four coping strategies of were found: active rational problem solving, supression of emotions, escaping from problem, looking for social support. Relationships between coping strategies and self-esteem and self-efficacy were tested. Results show significant relationships, however, there are sex differences. In regard to girls, social support is positively related to self-efficacy, in regard to boys, this relationships is negative. |
