Description	The paper deals with tourism which occurs over the Moravian-Slovakian border in the southern part of the borderland. It focuses on the changes that have taken place when the Czechoslovak Federal Republic split up. The survey has confirmed that the region of Hodonin does not belong to major touristically attractive regions. Marketing research as wel as a unifying concept of tourism of this region is missing. Mixed marriages, family ties and friendships with people on the other side of the border have great potential for the future development of tourism in this region.
