Description It was proved in 228 children (age 11-15), that age-dependent development of mean pulse interval and systolic blood pressure is not linked with a development of baroreflex sensitivity. On the other hand, variability of pulse intervals correlates with baroreflex sensitivity and has a dampening effect on variability in systolic blood pressure (SBP). In hypertensive children an increased variability in SBP is present.
