Description | Our contribution sums up the results of a questionnaire research of the culture of Czech schools from the viewpoint of head-teachers of basic schools. This inquiry is part of a three-year-project through which we struggle to describe the culture of today`s Czech schools and examine the options of its development. Answering the question of who is the main performer of the school`s functioning, the head-teachers say that in all the areas under exploration it is clearly the teachers who dominate. The overall constellation of these performers makes it clear that the culture of Czech schools is, first of all, a culture of adults. It is determined by adults, mainly teachers, who much more often communicate about children than with them. |
