| Description | The article deals with the development of the only relevant political party representing Roma minority in the Czech republic - Roma civic initiative (ROI). The author sketches some theories of Roma`s intellectuals at the end of 80`s of the last century about the entry of Roma minority into political scene, describes the euphoric and short time of brotherhood between Czech majority and Roma minority right after the democratic revolution in 1989. It follows with the description of disintegration of ROI into many local Roma unions, intra-party struggle and complete decline of the party up to the cooperation agreement between ROI and Czech right wing extremists. |
