Description The plasma pencil is an original piece of plasma-chemical equipment which can be easily and delicately controlled by the hand, and which creates a physically and chemically active environment. The plasma pencil provides a directional flowing high-pressure plasma of a significantly unbalanced nature and high physical and chemical reactivity. It is particularly designed for the surface treatment of materials (surface cleaning, removing corrosion, etching, ablation or application of protective layers, local glaze baking, decorating ceramics, etc.). During plasma pencil applications it is possible to make original use of the unique plasma-liquid reactive system, in which the best traditional properties of liquids or electrolytes are joined with the properties and effects of plasma. since the very beginning the creation of the plasma pencil has been associated with the needs of conservators and restorers in new methods offering a wide scope of applications for various materials - metals, glass, ceramics, etc. The progressive development of the plasma pencil and research into its use have shown its universality in many applications during conservation and restoration of cultural heritage objects. The construction of the plasma pencil has undergone a relatively long and complicated development, though it is, at the present time, practically ready for production.
