Description Gamma-ray spectrometry data on contents of potassium, uranium and thorium in Triassic limestones, sinters and siliciclastic sediments of the Važecká Cave (Nízke Tatry Mts., Slovak Republic) are summarized in this paper. Limestones present in the endokarst have significantly higher values of uranium content compared to those exposed in the outcrops above the cave. The present authors consider the positive uranium anomaly in the limestones as resulting from the process of karstification.
