Description The analysis of the Catholic weekly press and other religious journalism revealed distinctive influencing mainly in journalistic texts (in editorials, commentaries, interviews etc.). The persuasive effect of linguistic devices applies mainly to new metaphorical expressions, unexpected metaphors, similes and other proverbs and their modifications, means of expressivity, unusual usage of expressions from other spheres of communication, and frequent occurrences of persuasive quotations.
