Description This review brings information on the newest ideas on formation and source material of the high-pressure granulites of the Bohemian Massif. It focuses primarily at felsic granulites. It is pointed out that the Czech granulites differ from granulites of the so-called regional granulite terranes outside Europe. Geotectonic context of the granulite formation and their evolution during the exhumation on the Earths surface are presented. Different ideas on the character of granulite source rocks and the most recent geochronological data and their interpretations are given, too.
