Description The article offers views on the new area that has started to appear at the end of the past century in psychotherapeutic, counseling, and pedagogic scene. Adventure Therapy implies the use of demanding, almost risk activities with goal to strenghthen abilities and develop skills to cope wih demanding situations and also allow for emotional abreaction. Since the 1990s, there are attempts to connect Adventure Therapy with family therapy, especially with its strategic variant in the Minuchins concept. This cross-connection brings a number of theoretical and practical, security and ethical questions. The presented article is dedicated to development and forms of Adventure Therapy up to the point of establishing a new area Adventure Family Therapy, and it presents some foreign experience. The concluding notes evaluate the posssibilities and limits of family therapy that use demanding or even adventurous situations.
