Description This article deals with real problems and requirements in schools when they are viewed as a social environment. Results are presented from qualitative investigative research by directors of elementary schools in Brno – analysis of problems is presented from the view point of environmental factors, social relationships etc.. The recommendation of this article is that the involvement of social educationalists in schools may result in interesting and innovative solutions to some of the social problems.
