Description The analysis of the Catholic weekly press and other religious journalism revealed distinctive influencing mainly in journalistic texts (in editorials, commentaries, interviews etc.). The religious communication introduces the texts that are linguistically and stylishly polymorphic. The detailed general typology of the mentioned texts is still missing. The tradicional division follows the genres as a group of texts with similar characteristics. The persuasive effect of linguistic devices applies mainly to new metaphorical expressions, unexpected metaphors, similes and other proverbs and their modifications, means of expressivity, unusual usage of expressions from other spheres of communication, and frequent occurrences of persuasive quotations.
