Description A geographic information system (GIS) and remote sensing (RS) data were applied to assess opportunities for forest location and relocation in the study area of Strážný and Silnice land cadastre, which is situated in Šumava Mountains. Land use attributes were detected using by orthophotomaps and field survey. Analytic maps of nature conditions and digital terrain model (DTM) were used to evaluate nature factors from forest location/relocation viewpoint. In the spatial analysis of our objective was the determination of areas for forestation that are not suitable for agriculture management and delimitation of potential vegetation. By the forestation increase forest percentage by 10 %. New forested areas are will be of 57 % no-mowed meadows, 24 % mowed meadows, 12 % wet meadows, 7 % other areas
