| Description | Portugal forestry is characterised with extreme ownership shattering, prevailing pine and eucalyptus planting, low governmental support, frequent forest fires, low educational level and low staff of forest specialists and at the same time growing importance of forestry. Individual provincial authorities organized internal forestry advisory bodies to coordinate forestry activities. There are assembled local forest syndicates of owners and they carry common forest works. These institutions support forestry education as well. |
