Description The computer modelling of landscape phenomena has been developed in Czech science since 1970s. The basic research provided detail geospatial analytic data (on geology, soils, vegetation, climate, population, settlements, national economy branches etc.) for the modelling purposes. The digital cartographic system DIGIKART was developed for geographic data processing and presentation by the ZPA company in Nový Bydžov since early 1980s. The massive invasion of personal computers in the second half of 1980s and HW/SW price revolution in early 1990s allowed broad access to modern computing technologies. The list of institutions, software applied and aims of modelling procedures i Czech geography is presented and discussed.
