Description The Czech territorial planning documentation contains the generel of the territorial system of the ecological stability (TSES) at the scale of 1:10 000 as one of the necessary documents. The alluvial plains are protected by the same law as an ”important landscape elements”. The law does not define the responsibility for flood damages caused by an unsuitable TSES. Possible conflicts can be mitigated by such TSES compilation what uses the GIS technology for multi-parameter data assessment in the course of data handling, false interim result evaluation and products misuse. The GIS technology supports the scientific TSES element selection and location. The GIS based TSES projects contain efficient stabilizing elements only as the contribution to the local planning documents with respect to flood hazards.
