Description The article provides a brief guide through recent history of concepts “discursive psychology” and “discourse analysis”. What is important to emphasis now is a psychological “level” (context, or frame) of discourse analysis particularly in psychological articles and papers. The article includes a discussion concerning both concepts, and their contemporary use. The argument in the discussion is that discourse analysis is now more linked to such disciplines like sociology, or gender studies, to politics, or media analysis, than to psychology. Some psychologists identified e.g. with gender, or feminist analysis try to stress priority of discourse in contrast with psychological phenomena such a mind, or mental / inner life. Author notices that the new method, and new sub-discipline is however “ideological”. In contrast to (traditional) discursive psychology psychologists should discuss how can discourse analysis serve in psychology, e.g. with respect (not only in opposition) to specificity of traditional epistemology.
