Distributional status of Nyctalus leisleri in the Czech Republic

Description | The occurrence of the rare bat species of N. leisleri on the territory of the present Czech Republic has already been recorded since the half of the 19th century. The brief historical review of occurrence is given and the grid map constructed on the basis of all records is presented to illustrate the areal distribution of N. leisleri. In addition, altitudinal distribution and seasonal changes in the occurence are also evaluated. Development of research methods and its influence on the knowledge of this forest species is also discussed. In total, up to 2000 N. leisleri was resorded in 61 map squares and elevation of the sites of occurrence ranged from 163 to 1100 m a. s. l. |
