| Description | Publication focuses on challenging but also positive experience of parents of children with intellectual disability. Benefits for parents resource from the relationship with their child despite his or her handicap because it is the child and not his or her handicap what becomes a priority for them, and also from their personal growth caused by facing the unfavorable reality. These parental changes (in references called also Posttraumatic growth) arise in order to cope with challenges accompanying the care of a child with disability. Many parents consider their demanding experience also enriching after a certain period of time. |
