| Description | The Czech translation of René Fallet's novel The Cabbage soupe is analysed by comparative methods of translatology and sociolinguistics. The main intercultural problem seems to be the equivalence of idioms issue from various dialects, slangs or technolects. The equivalence exceed often the frame of one phrase and the translator has to compensate French sociocultural allusions for variants specific to Czech background. |
