Description | Our survey was completed by 152 children who are between 8 to 11 years old. Their task was to describe poor, average and outstanding way of living of their friends and acquaintances. This survey is a reaction to the lack of research interested in how children themselves see the quality of their lives. This survey is a part of a research project mapping the quality of life among children and adolescents. Average or outstanding life is most commonly described (as opposite to poor life) by these categories: the child has (both) parents; parents take care of him/her; parents are nice; the family has enough money; the child is good at school; the child is well behaved; the child has everything necessary for its living; the child has relative freedom what to do; the child does a sport. |
