Description | The aim of this e-learning course is to provide a systematic overview of the phonological system of English, starting with segments (sounds, syllable), moving to suprasegmental phenomena (stress, linking and intonation) and paying special attention to characteristic features of connected speech, as these apply to the problems of teaching English to future Czech teachers of English. The materials are divided into theoretical input covering individual topics, and a set of handouts accompanying contact sessions, both of these intended for self-study. |
